Default pedal travel

alright guys, I finished gutting the car and now there is some extra travel in the clutch pedal (i would assume the brake to but i have not tried it) from removing all the carpet and junk. Is this bad? I'm almost thinking about building a bar to install stops off of for the clutch...

for anyone what has gutted their car, what have you done?

This has never been an issue in my car nor and car that I have heard of.

So you probably don't need to do anything.
