The VR6 physically fits in the 951 engine bay with room to spare. Once I have my 951 finished with a 951 engine (I still neeeeeed that shortblock guys ) and I find another good 944 with a blown engine I can do more work on this project. I dont want to make either my 944 or 951 into any more of a VW
If anyone is interested in seeing how much room there is with a vr6 sitting in the engine bay .. I can post pics up pretty soon

Why? How much more/less than a LT1 does it weigh? How much more/less power per pound of motor than a LT/LS motor is a VR6?
Why? Why fabricate everything from scratch when renegade already did all the measuring for you?

Also a great way to get back at the VW guys; for poaching 944 door handles, wheels etc....

Make sure to put a procharger blower on it as well. One of our techs has a VR6 transplanted into his 91 golf, with a procharger blower on it. 330fwhp.
