Default lower cost S4 brake pads? - Turbo S

Are there any lower cost pads available for the S4 calipers on the front of a Turbo S? My usual sources don't even list pads for that application. This is for my daily driver so exotic is not required. thanks bill

I think the term "big-blacks" should be used for 928 GTS calipers. The GTS calipers are almost identical to the "big-reds" on the 964 3.6T and 993 TT. All of these calipers work with 322x32-mm rotors. For more info, see http://www.944s2.com/brakes/brakes.htm

The S4 / 951S calipers are sorta like "medium-blacks" in comparison to the GTS calipers and work with 304x32-mm rotors... but its all relative as the S4 / 951S calipers are still pretty damn big!

Karl.

And of course, the regular 951 calipers are called "baby Brembo's".

Regards,

Next time you have one off, turn one around. They have Brembo casted right into the inward facing side of each caliper. If they were not made for Porsche they would have the same thing on the outside too.
