dying carpet
What is the proper procedure/ product to use on black carpet i searched but could not find any specific info on this. Any tips for a first-time dyer?
My lloyds are losing their color and i just want to make them look new again. i tried a deep shampooing which helped, but the color is still quite faded.
THANKS!

search the name "leather world technologies" under google, i just got a set of their carpet dye, leather dye, and stain remover and loved it. The leather dye was the best part. The carpet dye is good for me considering that i have a linen white interior. I beleive black is a whole hell of alot easier to work with for carpety dying. So you can try that, but the more convienient way might be to go to an autoparts store and get black paint for upholstery like was said earlier.

and when you paint it.. is there some kind of special procedure/steps such that maybe you have some kind of coating first or cleaning step first or something..(I dunno) or just one simple step, paint it! and that's it.. or there are some steps in doing it..
and when you buy that it's mean all the package steps procedure in repair is included am I correct? or some things sold saperately that we have to buy to complete the kit.. and ready to use?
let me know... and thanks so much..
forgive my poor engilsh... I'm not american...

Lol its alright, I'm 90% Hungarian. Sorry for the lack of details in my post, i ordered this stuff called automotive carpet dye off their website. The link is http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Prod...ctid=ACD%20101
Now you do have to specify the color you want and an easy way to do this is to go to this link of their website, and remember the code for the peticular black you want http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Auto...x?make=Porsche
The color code for the black you want is called 917, you will have to specify this to them when you order it online. Even though the black color is technically listed under "auto leather dyes", they can still make the same color for you in a carpet dye version.
When you go to do your carpets, clean the hell out of them. It sounds like youve already done this, so for good measure do it once more. Then you pour a little bit of it into a bowl and use either a brush or a peice of foam and dab it onto the carpet. It sounds asthough your problem is that your carpets are faded, so you will have to probably buy a 16oz bottle. I bought the 8oz bottle and used it to cover up carpet stains that wouldn't wash out. All in all its a very simple procedure. PM me if you get the product and have any more questions!
Glad I could help!

The spray stuff works fine as long as the color change isnt drastic, in your case its not. Just shampoo the carpet with a shampoo that doesnt have a protector/wax of any kind in it. Maybe just plain soap.
Spray a coat, wait for it to dry, then take your hand or some kind of fabric brush and rub the whole thing down until that "stiffness" is gone. You will know what i mean. Now apply the second coat, and repeat. You should be fine with one or two coats
This helps to ensure that you get as much of the surface as possible.
