VW Door handles, will they work?

Will either of those door handles fit on my 924S?
I took apart my driver's side door handle this weekend, since it only opens from the outside. I managed to lock my keys in the car twice already, once while it was running,
I need to fix this, and my door handle has pieces broken off that attach to the inside parts so I need new ones. I don't want anything fancy (script) I just want it to work.
My passanger side works, but you have to press the handle all the way, so I think its on the way out. Before I am unable to open either door and have to crawl through the hatch, I need to fix this.
Since VW'ers are using porsche handles, these must fit. I tried to compare the pics, but the door handle pics on CG are too small.

also, the porsche ones are overpriced imho for the same handle, they go for like $40 each on ebay that I have seen...

I have an original 924 handle without the plastic trim. I removed it from a junkyard car to put the plastic on my car's handle. Paint is a bit faded, and you'd need to remove the lock cylinder. The handle assembly works and physically fits on a 944/924S, but I am unsure if the dimensions of the plastic arm used to pull up the assembly inside are equivalent. PM me if you want to give it a try.

Man, not knocking JAGENG or anything, but it seems like any part that has Porsche attached to it has a huge markup!
I'm gonna go ahead and try the pull style and see what happens. You cant beat 2 handles for $9.99!
They should work since the VW'ers are using our handles without a problem.

The only issue I have heard is that the detent in the Porsche sheet metal is slightly different than the VW with the pull type handle. This can make the handle to not sit perfectly flush and rock a bit. Again that is something I read, I've never done that swap before. Let us know how it turns out.

Years ago I tried to use a VW handle on my 79 924, and the internals were completely different.
Just a heads-up that you may be swapping assembly pieces in a mix and match.

My brother has a vw. We've compared handles before and while they look identical from outside, the mechanism is actually different. It may work, but by default I would lean towards not working. For the Jag eng version, I think they either modify the vw handles or send you instructions on how to modify them, or something along those lines. And it's not a perfect factory fit IIRC but it can be made to fit well.

I'm not sure if the vw handle will work on the Porshe, but many vw guys install the porsche handles on their cars. If the swap works one way it should work the other way as well.

I am going to try it. I will post about my success or failure. I will also give detail on how it went. I am also trying to find someone to machine the Porsche emblem for the handle, if I find that or someone knows where to do that give me a shout. I hear you cannot get those handles anymore?

no it didnt, basically the little arm piece that breaks on everyones porsche handles needs to be fabbed up for the VW handles to work.
That's how jageng was able to make these work because they had designed and machined a piece that would allow the VW handles to work.

So it sounds like it could work, if you were able to fab that piece? Plus you'd end up with a stronger handle?
