I think that it is legal to jam laser a.k.a send back a false laser singal to confuse the cops gun. However, it is very illegal to jam radar guns. Not only will the police give you a fine so will the FAA. I wouldn't want to mess with that. As for absorbing and/or deflecting radar or laser so the cops don't get a reading seems like it would be legal.

All you need to do is shape and paint your car like the sealth fighter plane and make a laser jammer, and you too can drive around undetected. LOL

Jamming laser is legal, used a jammer for a few thousand miles in a friend's car. We even had a Georgia state trooper tap the top of his gun and try pointing at us again and look confused. Hilarious.

I seem to remember in that aforementioned C&D article that having one's highbeams one would reduce the effective range of lidar somewhat (assuming you're being targeted from the front).

I've never been caught with a gun, just a couple of times when the officer knew I was obviously speeding.
