OK, I got the pricing today, and entered the lenses into my system. They can now be pre-ordered - just understand that I can't ship them before the end of April. The initial shipment is not very large and might sell out quickly.

You can use Google checkout and allow pre-authorization to charge your credit card; I will not charge it before I ship, but having this allows me to ship without delay. Alternatively you can just put in an order and wait until I notify that the lenses have arrived. I will fill orders in the sequence that payments arrive. Hope this makes sense.

Here are the direct links to the products

Next project will be the front side markers.

Nicole,

In both descriptions for the lenses it says "922 and 944", is 922 an internal code I don't know about?

No, just a sign of me getting old and my vision deteriorating... that's why I drive a 928. Just kidding!!!

Thanks for alerting me of the mistake. I have corrected it.

Quick update:

Brad was nice enough to "test" some of my exisitng clear Euro lenses on his car, and we both agree they don't look "right". So, I have put some pressure on my vendor to make me some US spec clear turn signal lenses for the 944. I would expect to have the first batch within 2-3 months.

Meanwhile, I have gotten word that my first batch of turbo/S2 turn signals are ready to be shipped. I'm very excited about this product, and hope you'll like it, too! Unfortunately the shape of these lenses required a more complicated mold than most other lenses we offer, which is reflected in the cost. I hope you'll find the price acceptable nevertheless.

Lastly, I received a pair of 944 side markers from Todd, that I will send to Germany tomorrow. I expect to have clear lens replacementsn around the same time as the standard 944 turn signal lenses.

So, within the next 3 months you will be able to customize your 944 with:

- clear turn signal lenses (all models; 951 and S2 available by the end of April)
- front side marker lenses
- clear turn signal segments for the tail lights (available by the end of April)

Talk about a buzzkill. Besides, competition in the market may bring down the prices.

Well, it's not too surprising that we are not the only ones... However, ...

- I have not seen any competitive products with the same clarity and shine. The original lenses are rather dull on the inside, and it takes some special techniques to make the molds to produce nicely transparent lenses as my vendor does. It also requires high quality materials to get the clarity and prevent yellowing over time.

- To the best of my knowledge no other Rennlist member and sponsor offers them.

Nicole,
Thanks for bringing these to market and providing an option for Rennlist members, particularly those of us here in the North America. Having seen aftermarket clear lens from different vendors, I agree with your comments about clarity and shine. My clear front lens from the UK are absolutely perfect whereas the clear rear lens from a non-rennlist sponsor in Europe would never pass for OEM and were consequently never installed on my car.

With regards to the clear rear lens being sold by a vendor from Europe, they are plagued by microbubbles. Can you comment on the clarity and appearance of the clear rear lenses you are going to be selling, ie will the plastic look a clear as the OEM lens or do they also suffer from microbubbles? Unfortunately microbubbles are often diffcult to see in pictures although are fairly obvious upon closely looking at the lens.

Those rear lenses i have are made in Europe and could be better quality. My 951 front lenses are made in China and they are the best possible quality. I paid just 25€ of them. Price included freight from Germany to Finland. Those chinese lenses can be bought from several place in europe and price is usually under 30€

There are several sets for sale in German ebay at the moment. They deliver worldwide.

My vendor uses a vacuum pump to eliminate bubbles. It's extremely rare to have a buble or two in a piece - if he catches it, he won't even sent the part to me.
