Default Removing head without removing intake?

I saw an ad on craigslist for a 944 that lost its head... haha... ok seriously though, from the looks of it, they just unbolted the intake from the cylinder head and just pulled it out of the way enough for the head to slide off the head studs. Has anyone tried this, or know if it works? It would be very nice to avoid touching the intake if and when head work is needed.

It looks like they took it off and simply placed it in its current spot.

Its impossible to get the cylinder head off with the intake manifold in place.

Yeah he says it's an S. You can clearly tell it's made a visit to Scheib. But I was more interested in the intake... I thought they could have just put the intake on top, but they why would they put the strut brace back on? That's what made me think they pushed and pulled with things still in place.

With everything else that's removed, the S intake would be very easy to remove. I bet it was slid back in under the brace.

I guess you guys are right. Oh well, I guess there's no getting around it - the intake must come out for the head to come off.
