Default Wiper Arms Alignment (linkage)

For some reason, I am unable to adjust my wiper arm properly on the passenger side. In the pic, the arm is too high. However, when I try to move the arm down a notch, it is way too low. The drivers side seems ok. Is there a way to adjust the spindle on the pass side independent of the drivers side so I can get the arm more horizontal.

Actually, even at horizontal the are much higher than I prefer, since they obstruct the view. Anyone ever find some different or lower profile arms?

The early arms are higher at the joint than the later arms. Get a set of arms off an '88 or later car and they will look much better. You can see the difference when they are side by side.

I had mine off last week doing some preventative maintenance. The car looks alot better w/o them. Too bad they don't 'store' behind the hood like cars did in the 70's. Somewhere I read to take the wiper arms off and put a few drops of oil where the shafts rotate while running the wiper motor. This gets ignored and it just makes sense after 20 years to lube them.
