For reference..........

I weighed mine about 2 years back. I've done a lot of weight reduction (nothng super drastic though). With my 951 Fuchs on it, no sunroof panel, no spare/tools, and less than 1/2 tank of gas, it weight 2530lbs.

How do you get away with windshield washer delete? It is a required item in PA inspection that the washers work. I would think this would be required in other states as well. Or do you have some small half liter tank substitute?

Inspection? What is this "inspection" thing you speak of? Ohio doesn't have any sort of inspection, hence the amount of clunker cars seen around these parts.

The car never sees rain or bad weather, and is nowhere close to being a daily driver. The washer tank that was in it was leaking and I pulled it out to replace it (that was a PIA BTW), then thought about it and realized I never used it anyway so I decided not to replace it. I had thoughts about putting a smaller reservoir in from some other type of car but decided against it. All of the lines and associated parts of the system are now gone, just like other components that have been deleted (ie, power mirrors came out, so did all of the associated wiring and switches, switches were replaced with switch blanks).

I have basically the same car you described. 83 944 with no options. Still has the a/c, but I removed the sound deadening from the floor. Still has interior, but I added a cage. Parking brake stuff was removed along with fog lights. Added parts needed for competition, so the weight should be very close to stock. In order to meet the 2779 minimum weight for PCA I class (without driver), I add 160lbs. Depending on the scales, I meet minimum weight with less than 1/4 tank.

I would say 2600 to 2650 would be a reasonable range for a stock 83.

They do inspect a lot of things in Texas, but washers aren't one of them. We don't exactly have snow like PA does though... I can only remember using the washers in my Celica once or twice since I bought it in 7/00.

no one is forcing you to listen to anybody, as others have mentioned, there is that "ignore" button, you're more than welcome to use it since i doubt you'll say anything interesting anyway.

No, probably not, I just think with 229 posts you should buy a membership like most of us on here, or shut up.
