Default Key question

Im looking to get a new lighted key, i found em at automotion.com, but they are now nla for the 944, but they do have them for the 911's. so can i use the keyblank for the 911 on my 944?

My key is fuched, and the battery and internals are mia.

Performance Products still sells them through their paper catalog, I bought one just 2 months ago unless it's been discontinued since then? Item # 903793 @ $29.95. The automation website doesn't cover everything they carry.
