Got back very late on Sunday from two days of flogging the 944 around beautiful Virginia International Raceway with the Audi Club North America - Potomac Chapter. We couldn't have asked for better weather really. A little chilly in the mornings just meant the r-comps took and extra lap or two to come up to temp, but it also allowed me to stretch one more weekend out of a set of well worn tires.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
There were a good handful of 944s representing the watercooled family, and our own J Silverman was there with his black 924s.
After 7 months of doing the clutch job and replacing or rebuilding everything I touched along the way I couldn't have asked the car to perform any better! At the end of the straights I was at least 15mph faster than the last time I had it out there with the speedo just breaking over the 120 mark. The uphill esses were great and the new clutch helped launch out of NASCAR bend even more entering around 100 and exiting at the top of the hill around 110.
Even though it wasn't the fastest car in our group, the sweetest parts of the day were when a guy in a HEAVILY modded S4 would pass me coming out of NASCAR bend but then couldn't shake me off his tail all the way up the esses, through the drop and up to oak tree. A car that I had no business running against since he easily had 3x the hp! Just goes to show that is not the size of the motor, its how you tickle the steering wheel that matters.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Reggie Forrster was there with his 944 (with S2 motor transplant) Matt Wolf with his 951 and a couple others (sorry guys, I forget your names at this time of the morning... if they even post on here.)
Ex-Audi factory driver, now Mazda-driver, Randy Pobst came and hung out for the weekend as he usually does when we are there and drove peoples cars. Everyone that rode with him driving their car came out impressed and looking like they needed a change of underwear.
Thanks it for now... here are some pics (of me).. I'll post more as I can find p-cars in the bunch.
P.S. If you are at all interested in tracking your car and live in the area that VIR is not too far of a drive for the weekend I HIGHLY recommend coming on out. Only requirement is you be an Audi Club member. And unlike other clubs, we DO NOT require you to own an Audi to join. You just need to be willing to give the club $40 and thats it!![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Wow, that looks like fun. Haven't been on a skidpad in forever. The Audi Club CI was asking me to come to this event at the last Potomac PCA DE, but I couldn't due to work travel

A couple of buddies of mine (Bill Gammon, red RX-7 with a silver rear spoiler from Bill Lester's old car, and Dan Combs, black Mustang) are instructors with the Audi club and do those VIR events. I thinks Bill was there this past weekend. I'm looking forward to doing some track days, but the old girl needs more work first.

One of these days I'll put a new seal on it. Maybe that'll keep the rain out.. hrmmm ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
