do any other Porsche models use a small diameter(13 to 14 inch) steering wheel. and would it be compatible for the 85 944 n/a?

My 924s came with a 14" wheel IIRC so I think that they exist.

The late 944/951 steering wheel is 14" isn't it? All 944s (including 924s and 968s) use the same steering shaft spline pattern, so they all interchange. The 928 uses steering wheels identical to 944 wheels but the steering column is thicker, so it's not compatible. I don't know about 911s.

I put a 951 wheel in my early 944. Reduced the diameter by 1", made it a little stiffer to steer, and improved feedback.

 

i am thinking about changing diameters, due to my inseam. at 5'7", i have to sit reasonably close. then add the sport seats with large side bolsters, thus making entry and exit a real pain-in-the-hip.
