I got much more than 34mpg once..... but it involved drafting behind a motor home for 1000+km
Not something I would do again, but I made over 1000km on ~60L.

Tires at 32/38 psi
Consistent speed
65 degrees out
No parasitic loss from power steering
5th gear all the way
83s are just lighter

The car has gone to a good home. A good Rennlister, JerryW and his son bought it today for a 944 spec car. That makes me very happy to see it will be sporting numbers come Spring. I wish I had specified it has to have a decal on the side of Ol' Pokey who is Gumby's trusty horse but that wouldn't be very intimidating at the track

And thanks guys for the MPG hijack on my sales thread

Good to hear! I know Jerry and his son will take excellent care of the car, and we'll be seeing it out at the tracks.

Congratulations on selling the car so quickly!

And the mpg hijack was just our way of bumping the thread to get the car the attention it deserved.

It was more of a tongue in cheek encouragement for Sharky to buy Kuhl's car anddrive it back than an actual estimate of my MPG's.

Kuhlio - went to a good home - the track. Excellent!

Actually no. It's still in front of my house for pickup next Sunday. I really didn''t drive it that much myself anymore; it was Travis' car for the last 3 years and trust me he is missing it already. I can't express enough how good I feel that the car will have a second life as a 944 Spec car. Jerry and Tim got what they both needed at a great price and I have one less car to fix. That's a win-win to me. Ol' Pokey will live on as #552 and that brings a smile to my face. I still have 2-951's for awhile to keep me from becoming too morose I would like to thank all the Rennlisters that doled out sympathy and support upon me but everyone wins in this deal. This forum community is the best even with it's warts!

Another spec car GREAT!!!!!

Spec cars have been a great thing in giving the 944 a second life. For year the NA has lived in 951's shadow. Now they the ones being race while the 951 lives on as street cars.
