FPR? Or if you left the key in the on possition for a while for the fuel pump to build up some pressure, will it then start up the first time?

I assume you get the tach bounce while cranking on that first attempt that fails?

While my crank sensor connections were iffy, I would get a no-start on the first try and then it would fire right up on the second try.

Just a different suggestion than the usual thats an easy check...

I see the same behavior on my 88 Turbo, but I've noticed one oddity in my case. If it's actually COLD out (meaning below the mid 30s- it's not supposed to be this cold yet in Indiana...), it'll start right up on the first try. I'll have to try the fpr idea and see if that works any better.

I haven't seen 30s since living in NC.

I will try the FPR thing. RE: crank sensor connections... not sure I'm familiar with where the "crank sensor" is located. Does it have another name?

Thanks,
Matt
