My 4 years of engineering in High school finally payed off... last week & bought two 10" sony 2006 series subwoofers, and a sony 2 channel 1600watt amp, and decided to make my own subwoofer box to fit in the hatch just below the rolling cover (so i can cover them up at night). These babys KICK in this car. I started by taking measurements, then drew a whole blueprint out for the box.
Here are the materials i used:
3- 24"x48" sheets of 3/4" MDF ($8- each)
2 Square yards of black box carpet ($12- per yard)
A ton of screws
Some white silicon and caulking to seal the box
2- Speaker Terminals
And heres the final install photos:
I mounted the amp on a carpeted piece of MDF behind the subwoofers because theres plenty of ventillation there, and the hatch cover i just bought off ebay will cover it all up when i park the car so it will be hidden.
Installed my new steering wheel from orbix this weekend, and Installed my SIRIUS radio while i was at it next to my boost gauge. I made the panel with a sheet of plexiglass and covered it in carbon fiber wrap.
If anybody wants the blueprints for the box, I can email them to you... just shoot me a PM. The box is just about .9 cubic feet for each subwoofer (exactly what my subs need).

no... theyre just the stock white gauges, must be the flash from the camera. I do see what youre talking about though, that would look pretty cool. Backlit Blue gauges.

Can you e me those blue prints? I've got a band pass box and it's way too big to cover up. That looks great! And not to steal the thread, but I've got a Sirius ready radio and I don't know where to mount the actual receiver box. Any ideas? Right now it sits quietly under the passenger side floor mat. Thanks!
