Default -3 vs -4 oil pressure gauge line

Is there any logical reason I should not use a -3 (3/16" OD) braided steel line to send pressurized oil to my mechanical gauge? The other option is -4 (1/4" OD). They are both similar in price. I like the idea of the slightly smaller diameter for routing purposes. Will measure tonight to see if I need 6' of line or if I can get by with the 4' length.

Opinions?

Thanks for the quick reply. Sort of what I was thinking as well.
