You planning on doing the belts this weekend?

I have found something more fun.

Not this weekend, at least I won't be doing it this weekend. Found out on tuesday when I went in for work that I'm working 10-4 on sat and 530pm-11 on sunday. Sort of kills any plans for the weekend.

Although I may get myself to go do this sf-pca ralle thing on sat night.

I did the belts while parked on the street. I also did the headgasket there. Doable!

Just tighten the belts if they're slapping. If you still haven't gotten to 40k then pop the cover, look at the belts, and if they look good then they are good. Belts are tough - they'll show signs of deterioration like cracks, frays, etc.

I'm way a ways away, so I can't help. My brother is so afraid of timing belts now, since he broke his twice (non-interference though) so he won't help either. It's easy though!

well, i tightened them, and they were fine, then went back to slapping again in a few days.

i mean, they only have 30k miles on 'em, but it's better to be safe than have a bowl of busted valve soup.
