Default What kind of performance can I expect for a 944S

Ive driven a 944 for over a year now, as well as an 84 928. I recently purchased a 944S, what kind of specs, performance can I expect from it regarding speed, reliability cost and whatnot. I was also considering an autothority chip to boost its numbers slightly, any adive out there?

I got mine this summer, pretty damn clean. I think it has enough power to pass whenever I need, and to accelerate well from a roll. Can you describe what yours sounds like? Mine doesnt sound deep at all, kinda like a turbine engine or sumthin.

I haven't driven mine since 2001 when it barfed up a rod bearing. If I get off my *** and put it back together, it will be like getting a new car all over again!

I just picked one up about a month ago, and was a little disappointed. The wife's VR6 Jetta is faster with less horsepower. Mine has 119,000 miles on it, so I don't know if there's anything I can do to restore some of that lost HP. At least I have the 996 to fall back on if I want to move. Handling wise though I absolutely love it and couldn't want anymore out of it.

Best advice, drop in a 350 sbc to get adequate power, cheap gets the job done.

With the current Canadian exchange rate that works out to be a Ford 289.
