Hi there,
I have a 1990 944S2 UK spec. The rear of the car seemed to be sagging and there didn't appear to be a great deal of dampening when going over bumps or cracks in the road. So I changed the rear dampers for a new set. Although this made car sit a little higher it didn't change the the way the car behaved when going over bumps. Today I had a little weight in the back of the car and it sounded like the tyre was hitting the bodywork. Someone suggested the spring plates may need changing/adjusting. Can anyone confirm if this may be the case and perhaps enlighten me as to what spring plates are, if they can be adjusted or how difficult they are to change.
thanks in advance
Adam

Try adjusting the rear ride height. Hopefully you do not have to reindex the torsion bars.
Here is the procedure. Skip is lowering the rear ride height, you'd probably be raising it:

Yes, I agree readjusting the height using the simple method should do the job. If not there must be some problem with the torsion bars. They may have gone too soft. Raising the height a bit should help.
