I have one more option to throw in the mix. You can take a sawzall to a 928 motor, cut it in half, and then just JB Weld the open wound and stick that in.

I'snt there also subtle difference in the transaxle and tourqu tube that would have to be adressed if you were going from a non s early car to a late modle s engine. The best bet is almost always to just find a stock engine and go trough it well, clean the engine bay up and make it stock.
