Well,
I run redline heavy shockproof in my Turbo S LSD box and my 84 NA racing open diff gear box.

I have done so for many years on the advice of Chris Cervelli. Given he has raced the 944 in high hp configuratons and knows these cars I trust that he recommended good stuff. Never had and tranny issues in either car.

I read some of these threads this weekend and couldn't find the AMSOIL locally so I put Mobil 1, pure synthetic 75W90 in it and WOW what a difference. Next change I will plan ahead and get the MT90.

I was surprised to find that the Royal Purple website recommended SAE30 as the replacement for 80W (with reference to the BMW's only, but same in my 88 944 N/A manual was 80W. This seemed strange too me since I thought the SAE30 would be too lite. Thoughts?
