Default Header Outlet Not Lining Up

Has anyone had this problem before. The head was off for headgasket and now I am putting everything back together. But the flanges on the header pipes are not lining up? I have tried adjusting the connection at the head to move things around but nothing seems to make any difference. They were fine when I took them off........

Installing headers always seems to be a pain for me too. I assume you have the studs out of the head. If not, start there. I usually try to line up the flanges and just drop the bolts in to keep them lined up -- then you can get a little leverage on the top side when you position the headers to the head. Another trick is to use a screw driver or awl to pry/line up the bolt holes in the flanges. The exhaust distorts a bit under heat, so when you disassemble, the pipes tend to move like that.
