spazegun,
Saw this picture of your cage. You may have a problem here.

That front bar is not considered safe.

Review this thread.

Yea, yea, I had a 20 minute conversation with the lead nasa tech guy for Mid-atlantic. He told me a few things.
1) The cage is technically legal as its grandfathered in (i have old books for the car)
2) The cage has the Maximum allowable bends in it (ie 2). It cannot have more than that, but other than that its legal.
3) 08 nasa might go to mandatory nascar bars (or at least I will) so the bars and the cage will need work.
4) based on 1 and 2 he would pass the car, but only under the technicalities in the rule book.

So I'm safe for another year, and thats all i care about. After that, I'm thinking nascar bars (drivers side), 2 bars passenger, knee bar and new down tubes that only have one bend in them.

there is some quote about "a race car is never 'done'."

you have 5 years on me then

although the nice thing abotu this "turn key" race car, is that the suspension was well setup. Thats the ONLY thing they did right with this car.

I have a laundry list of stuff i want to add to the car (fire system was just added per that great video from nationals) and a budget enough for 1/4 of them....

Anyone want to sponsor a race car?
