Default Transmission OIL Leak

HI

Is there an oli seal, at front of transmission, sealing the main saft (man.5 speed gearbox 1986 924S) ?

I just had the tranny down. I changed axle flange seals. But did'nt even think about this one. After test drive there is oil leak at the front tranny. I hope there is only too much oil ....

My 944 Hayness doesn't know this seal at all and older 924 haynes says there is no seal. Too much work to take tranny down and peak :-). Please help if you know the truth.

Well-what means did you use to move the spline conector???

Force and a prybar, maybe?

Yeah man - if you nicked the front oil seal with ANYTHING sharp or with ANY force........

very easy to do because you are applying force to that stupid f-ing connector and it slips off and...............leak

Thanks ST. So there is a seal :-)

Actually I did not slip anything as far as i know but there was some force involved ....

I think I just take the tranny down and change the seal ... it should be fast and easy. Done it last week...... I know how to do it and I allready have either new or lubricated bolts ...

Does the seal come out by simpply pulling it out and forward with seal hook ??
