Default Rear Suspension Recommendation?

I need to replace my rear shocks. They're getting spongy. Can anyone recommend something good that won't break the bank? I don't know a lot about suspension, so explain it like I'm a moron. By the way, its an '87 944.

They (Bilstein or Koni) will work just fine for the fronts as well.

For a more complete list of shock/strut suppliers for the 944/968, see: http://www.weissach.net/924-944-968_...l#ShocksStruts
