Just did this the other day. Definately use stands to give you good access to the top nut and bolt. Biggest trouble I had was breaking the bottom bolts free. I used my jacks' tubular steel lever over my rachet driver for a mother load of leverage which did the trick nicely. Remember to torque up real good when finished too. Good luck!

Lock tight blue will be your friend on the bolts with the proper torque to top it off.

Wow, that was easy!

The only reason it took as long as it did was because I dropped one of the upper washers and spent a couple minutes looking for it. I think that was the hardest part of the job!

Jack the car up enough to get your arm on the top, undo the bottom, then second guess what setting you want, presto!

Hi Guys. Spurred on by your comments about how easy it is to change the rear shocks, I attempted this job at the weekend on my 924 2.0. The nuts came off eventually but the bolts just rotate and no sledgehammers will move them either. I presume the metal sleeve for the bush is seized on to the bolt thread. Anyone got any ideas on how to remove them? I'm thinking some kind of puller similar to a vice clamp. Help!!

Have you tried taking the pressure of the bolt by jacking up the trailing arm slightly?

Yup. I could do with a Giantman with suitably sized hammer to remove it...
