Metro NY / NNJ Get together soon?
Just wondering if any of you guys want to do another get together soon. Its cooled off considerably so those of us with no a/c dont have to suffer to get a hotdog.. .
Just some dates to reserve kinda...
10th Sept : MetroNY Auto-x
23rd Sept : NNJ Auto-x
22nd October : MetroNY Auto-x
So what does everyone think?
As for meeting place, i guess the usual Rutt's Hutt or the Hot Grill.

Sept 17-18 wouldn't work for me - that's NNJR's annual "PorscheRAMA" event at Pocono Raceway.
It is a multitude of Porsche related activities - DE (with Open track at times for upper run groups) on the North and South Courses, Time Time on North course on Sunday, Autocross on the East course, Concours on the front straight, and a rally on the surrounding mountain roads. Plus a couple of social events thrown in for good measure!
End shameless plug,

Would love to make it but I have Porscherama at Pocono on the 16th and 17th and a Concours at Schneider Nelson on the 24th. October is always a good time for these gatherings. Although we need a place with a bigger lot.

I dont really know many places in Northern NJ to suggest and getting everyone into NYC would be a pain in the butt. Otherwise i would suggest Kat'z or something for some nice pastrami sandwiches.
I was also going to throw Hoagie Haven in Princeton out there.. but i doubt many of you want to drive all the way into central NJ for a hoagie .
So i guess October is when we can try for.

I'm going to try to make the NNJ. Just picked up the porsche so time to get out and do some stuff with it. I'll be missing Porscherama unfortunatly. Just haven't had enough time to get the car sorted for te trakc yet.
Techno Duck...good name drop with the hoagie haven. Up until 2 months ago i lived 10 minutes away. Nothing better than ivy inn ($1 Miller all the time; used to be rolling rock) and hoagie haven night.

October sounds good to me. There are lots of places around this area to get together I will loook into it. Although Rutts Hut has been shot down it is very convinient with a big lot. Maybe we should gather one place and drive for food.
Just a thought.

kidrex, i used to goto school in Lawrenceville (Rider Univerisity) and was at Hoagie Haven probably every other night after work with my ex. My friend from high school had mentioned the place to me when i first moved in and i had never heard of it before. I was out driving around with some friends and we passed it almost accidentally and i recognized the name.
I have been craving a hamburger from them for a long time.. ive been thinking about making the 160 mile round trip from LI to Princeton more than a few times! All that for a hamburger!

i think rutts was shot down because of repetition, not the lousy food. wherever we meet the culinary delights will probably be less than delightful.
i gobecause of the nice people not the lousy weenies!

I'm good early October. My wife is due close to Oct. 26. So around that time I may be out of commission for a bit. I'm okay with driving to Long Island or NJ. But my vote would be for Westchester .
I would also vote for a Saturday as to not interfere with the Giant games on Sunday. Very important!
And if Dan does not stop talking about his fixed A/C...I'm not going at all.

Techno,
Just make sure its still open before you do that. It has a bad history of being shut down for health violations, but it seems the new owners are a little better with it; in return, raising the prices by like a quarter. I dont know that the burgers are worth a 160 mile drive though. I mean they're good but not THAT good. Maybe i'll pick one up when i go back to my parents and bring it out to the autox for you. Maybe while i'm there i can get myself some buffalo fries as well...hmm this sounds like a good idea now.
