Default A/C HELP!

Alright here is the deal I have had my car 84 944n/a for 5 months now and went the whole summer without my a/c. Decided today i would tinker around. I noticed that the right side of the air pressure switch was broke off. I tried tojust touch the wire up to the right side but nothing

So i will put a new switch on today but is there any steps i need to take before hand? Am i going to get a freon bath? How much will it cost to recharge my system roughly? This way i dont get ripped off Thanks

Oh and one more qustion what kind of refrigerant does are ac take?

Unless a previous owner has already converted your car to R134a, you have an R12 system.

You should check the system for pressure before doing anything to open it up. If you still have R12 in the system, you should have it evacuated and the R12 recovered before proceeding. There are tons of AC threads here... try search.
