Used body panels worth more if repainted?
Hi all,
I am going to be parting out the guards red car in my signature within the next 2 months and was wondering if I would be able to make more money/get my money back on the repainting of the panels if I had them repainted, specifically the hood and front left quarter.
Thanks for help.

maybe if you sand blasted them down to the metal and then put primer on there? anyone who's going to buy a used exterior body piece is going to have to respray (unless they are mentally retarded) because none will match at all, even if they are the same color b/c of sun damage etc.

I have front panels, hood and doors from a 87 on my 85.5/86 and I will be getting the backend painted to match because the paint is better on the front
I would say sell them unpainted, as the new owners will probably have to repaint. It's no a difference in the paint, but a difference on the mileage of the paint ( fading etc ... )

Like Kirk said, having them stripped and primered will be of value to buyers, but it is very unlikely anyone who buys a body part will not have it repainted, so don't waste your time with that.
