I had the same problem with the BK mount and my sport seat. I ended up just mounting it to as shown in the picture below. Obviously cant be reached while strapped in, but I really could care less about that, im getting the hell outta the car if its on fire. It can easily be reached when not strapped in.

Fire extinguisher mount does not mount to where the seat is bolted to the floor. It mounts to another part of the seat which is not present on the Sport Seats.

Any more suggestions?

I thought it mounted to the two bolts at the front of the seat rails?

Maybe take a picture of the mount and the bottom of your seat.

There are two kinds of mounts arent there...those for power and those for non-power. I have a BK non-power mount that I just took out of my stock seats and that will be going into a sport seat. (I hope)

Heres the best pic I have of how the BK mount "mounts" in between the rails...

Since the sport seat is lower I think something like that would get in the way of the passenger's legs

The sport seat is lower?

There is no chance the FE could get in the way of the passengers legs here: I dont have the sport seats in my hands yet but I would imagine they couldnt be that much different...

I mounted mine to the tunned on the pass side

I just drilled it and backed it up with wahers. Location is such that I can reach while belted, but it is out of my way.

I occasionally carry passenger's, but never when racing and any incident for my is likely to be in race group when there is no passenger.

BTW... I have replace the noddle padding with proper high density SFI padding. Still nothign attached to the FE.

I will be adding in a proper fire system in the next month or two. When I do I plan to keep the handheld FE as you never know when you may need to put out a fire where the nozzles on the bottle are not.

When Dan says sport seats, he is refering to Corbeau Forza's..NOT factory sport seats. The only type of mount i think that would work are the ones which sandwich between the floor and the seat rail. But i think what Dan is saying is the seat sits to low and it would hit the passenger legs.

I really dont see the big deal with mounting the thing on the center tunnel. Why not do it right behind the arm rest on the top? Even if you drill into here you wont be able to see it once its taken out because of the carpet.

Jon -

The FE is too long to mount behind the armrest.

Matt - I think that would intefere with the seat.

Thinking of the tunnel next to the passenger's left leg or on sidewall by the passngers right foot (like Jeff - pic on previous page).
