Search isn't working, alarm preventing car start? (PLEASE HELP)

I climb into my car and I attempted to start the car. When I attempt to crank it, it does nothing. I start looking around, thinking the battery might be dead but noticed a red blinking light on the center console. I have never seen this before. I am stranded at my mom's house until I can resolve this so any guesses/suggestions would be helpful.
ps: I know for a fact this could have been found through searching but since it has decided not to work and I have to go home tonight, I am forced to post.

it should be a key smaller than your door/ignition key. if you dont have it, you are semi screwed if it is infact the alarm. maybe pulling the fuse to the alarm? but i bet they are smarter than that and would have it fail safe to make the car not run.. i'm at a loss, my guess is the wiring for the alarm is screwy

I just did this procedure: Clark's on bypassing alarm system except on my S2, the jumper location was different (jumper 1 to 3 instead of 1 to 4). Try it.

I dont have the little key. After retracing my steps I remember that I hit the interior piece with my foot as i got in where there is wiring. Could this have reset my alarm? I am reading clarks garage on how to bypass but I cant locate where it is (passenger side area??)

You can bypass the alarm system per the method stated above. You basically bridge the connections to the fuel pump...
As for the alarm itself, yes, you need to pull the passenger side floorboard and access the alarm control module. It's a 928 part and very expensive, so a used unit would probably be your best option. Good luck.

well i would tell you for certain, but i dont want to disturb the girlfriend... isn't there like a board that you have to pull up or something? maybe it is more like on the floor rather than behind the kickboard.

Behind the passenger carpet is a piece of plywood (screwed in on the 4 corners). The DME sits behind the plywood board and the alarm module should be hiding behind the DME.

Yea? Then, what material are the two screws at the top of the kickboard made of? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Oh, and for the jumpers -- I just went to radio shack and bought 4 female spade connectors and a short length of wire to connect them together.
