Thumbs up Project 951 has begun........

So my dad bought a 1986 951 a while back for pennies on the dollar because the previous P.O. had some how blown a timing belt (seized wp from the looks of it) for some reason. He had the head rebuilt and bought a gasket set, but that's as far as it went. The next guy bought it and never touched it, then we got it.......

It has:
Factory alarm
No LSD
Burgundy interior (yuck)
Power steering
Deep dish phones
Front brake ducks (factory?)
Tranny cooler

It needs some cosmetic work, but the body is nice and strait - needs paint of course, but the interior besides being dirty is in pretty good shape. I rollled it out of the carport and put it on stands and spend a couple hours powerwashing the guts, still need to do a lot more but it is looking really good. My brother's car is almost finished and as soon as it's out of the shop the 951 is going in.

The cylinder walls look really good, so I am just going to clean and replace seals and leave the block in the car and build up from there. I need to know if there is a kit that I can buy to refresh the turbo (K26-6) it is in really good shape though, no signs of FOD.

Anyways, dad has been putting so much of his time into helping us with our cars that I wanted to get a headstart on his. He also does not have much disposable income right now, although that should change soon as he is changing companies and moving up - so I have already started buying parts on my dollar and will continue to do so. In fact the power washer I was using is one that I just bought for his birthday a few days ago - I love having one around, so many uses. But yeah, I am going to keep posting updates, questions, and request for parts as we dive into this thing - I am pretty new to the whole 951 thing........
