Question What I got done today on the track car and questions about interior paint.....

Man, it was hot today - but I made alot of progress. The passenger side is almost ready for paint, got the soundproofing off the tunnel and the AC equipment off of that side. There is a TON of weight in all that interior/soundproofing!

Ok, so I want do paint the inside some kind of white or light grey, same with the engine bay. It is very pleasant to my eyes and makes it easier to work on because you can see what your doing. I also want to use a catylized paint so it resists wear - has anyone brushed the paint on with good results? I don't mind minimal paint strokes visible in the paint, figured a foam type brush would work best. It sure would make painting in there a lot easier - LOT less masking.

Some guys have had really good results using 4" high-density foam rollers. I'll be using that method when I paint my track car interior (after the cage is built), and probably the exterior some day too. IMHO the key to a good roller paint job is 1. surface prep and 2. thinning the paint and laying multiple very thin coats.

It's 68+ pages in all, but worth the read.

I used this method to paint my roll bar.
