Almost stalls after a quick tap at the accelerator peddle
No matter if the car (1989 N/A) is cold or hot, a quick tap and release of the accelerator and the rpm's climb to say around 1200 then drop down to like 500 rpm, the engine shudders, and then settles back at 800 rpm. When she settles back the idle is nice and smooth as before. No shudders, stumbling, or stalling execpt on start up. A quick shudder then smooth.
If I step on the accelerator a little harder it seems to hesitate for a second before it revs up. It's felt like that since I bought it a few weeks ago. Now this is my first 944 but I'm assuming it should respond immediately.
One of the PO's installed a Weltmeister Throttle Response Cam. The cable leading to it feels like it might have a little too much slack. Incase this could be the problem.
This weekend I'll be giving her a tune up. I also have found the Weltmeister instructions in all the paper work so I'll adjust that according the instructions. But if doing this doesn't help what else should I take a look at while I'm in there? Any sensors or something that I should make sure to check out?

I've noticed the same thing on an late 85...previously owned by a Porsche mechanic. I picked it up a few weeks ago as trade for some work I'd done. This is all stock and I checked the throttle cable which seems terribly loose. It doesn't have anywhere near the throttle response as my 968, which is easy to adjust the cable on via 2 13mm nuts. I didn't see the same type of assembly on the 944. I'll ask my mechanic buddy about this and post results if/when there is a solution.
