Radiator fan punctures hose
About a month ago the car started leaking coolant, I looked and the lower radiator hose (the one attached to the bottom of radiator and has a bgi mouth opening to the top) had a gash in it, i wasnt aware it was from the radiator fan but now i know....How do i prevent contact between the fan and the hose? a spacer of some sort? i was thinking attaching a metal peice to by force seperate the 2? any suggestions? thanks in advance guys

I ran into an issue with fan clearance when I replaced my old 3 blade fan with the 6 blade. To solve the problem, I carefully nipped the corner of each fan blade off with a pair of side cuts.
I say carefully, because I did not want to throw off the ballance of the fan. I took precaution to hold the side cuts at a consistant angle, and the amount I snipped off was just as much as I could take in one cut - basically just the length of the blade.
Seems to be working fine.

I think that there is a upgraded hose as well.
I think this part number should be the newer style.

When you change out to the 6 blade fans you should change to the new hose as well.

I don't know how to put the zip ties (cable ties) but I assume there is something to the side where you can anchor to, in order to pull the hose away from the fan.
What I did was to loosen the lower hose clamp, twist the hose so it shifted away from the fan, then I tightened the clamp again. It's been working so far. I had this issue because my passenger fan broke, and the only ones my local porsche junkyard had were the 6-blade version.

You should go ahead and do it. They can be had on ebay and such for less than 50.00
Quieter, runs less
It is plug and play compatibile, 6 screws, hour job.
You could still use the upgrade hose even if you have the 3 blade fans.

I just about had exactly the same thing happen to my 924S. After getting over to my wife's stepmother's, delivering the car there for her to try out for a couple of weeks prior to buying... I realize water's coming out the bottom...
The upper rad hose got cut and was pinhole-peeing from contact with the alternator pulley!
Second hose getting cut on this dayum car - first one was the expansion tank hose, cut by the headlight linkage... argh.
