Yes, standard is 380mm- Matt, do you have any pics of the Sport wheel...? I'd like to see it- never knew about it... Yes, the hub adapter puts the wheel in pretty much stock postion- do you not accidentally activate your wipers a lot w/your nuckles? I did, & it drove me nuckinfuts!

If you like where your's is, you should be very happy w/the Competition b/c it's fairly flat & in combination w/the adapter, it was in almost idenitcal location IIRC. I was trying to get further back in the car anyway, so I bought the 15mm spacer almost immediately after the wheel

BTW- does anyone here know how to lower the wheel slightly- maybe 1/2" even...? Just curious....

Basic Momo Monte Carlo in 320 mm. Nice thick grip, no frills. Obscures the gauges a bit in the small diameter, but worth the inconvenience for autocrossing.

I don't right now. It looks exactly like all the other wheels. I guess it's just a smaller diameter. It's option M431.

No, I don't hit the wipers at all. The stalk actually seems kind of far away to me.

Suede steering wheel can be returned to almost new condition with a suede brush every so often. They are avail. at any decent shoe store. This wheel was $88 and is Super thick. 350mm. Works great with my suede palmed gloves. I chose not to install the horn button.

Are you serious when you say a smaller wheel helps you in autocrossing? I had a smaller Momo wheel and last week I've put back the original wheel back on the car and my autocrossing this weekend was a lot better, IMO

I feel that I can turn faster and it's also easier to turn.

330-350mm ALL suede Wheel. I have a sparco (dont remember then name) which i freaking love!!! I wish i had it on the road car so i could touch it every day (yes, I'm a little bit of a car perv). But NRG makes some good wheels as well that will not break the bank.

here is my setup. Sparco wheel, NRG quick release and MOMO hub adapter, all in all i think it was <$300 for all of it.

Since I have some repairs that should come first ... I went with a more *affordable* wheel. I only decided to do this now for more leg room.

So I picked this up at AutoZone, $80 and another $15 for the adaptor. It's a little smaller then the stock wheel and the flat bottom makes a huge difference in leg room. I can see every gauge through the wheel except the battery. The perforated leather (at least I think it's leather) matches the perforated leather on the MOMO shift **** the PO had installed. The only problem are the levers on the right side are to close. I'm going to add a 1/2 spacer directly behind the wheel which will solve that. Other then that I'm really happy with it so far.

It had the name Pilot pressed into the center. Just filled that in and added a Porsche sticker to the center until I can find some thing better. Like maybe the key chain emblem.

Matt- wow, cool that they're not so close in your car- your's has possibly been adjusted or something b/c that switchplate can be moved in & out somewhat...

Sysgen- the smalelr wheel is tougher to turn- less leverage- BUT, it does turn the wheels more per less turn of the steering wheel- so, let's say that 1" of wheel turn turns the front wheels 2 degrees, then, w/the smaller wheel, it would be more like 2.5 degrees possibly- does that make sense...? Personally, I like the weightier feel, but it's all preference... Since it's easier to turn the bigger wheel, during Auto-X, in tight turns, you might feel more comfortable being able to whip the thing around quicker...?

Sam- NICE!!!!!

Robby - A little more space sure would help, so how would I go about adjusting those switches?

Hello, Sorry I don't have a pic, but I can find a link... http://www.xforceracing.com/xForce/p...d=19100000P006

I went with XForce cause I needed a cheaper small wheel. At 6'5" I needed some knee room so a 330mm wheel is just about right. I also lost power steering in my 951, and I don't have any trouble getting around town. Autocrosses take some muscle though

If you get an XForce, don't get one with aluminum thumb rests (they get hot!!!) and the leather around the wheel comes loose easier.

ENJOY

I see what you mean and I understand the physics around it but my personal experience is that when I had the smaller wheel I had a lot more trouble going thru ladders (is that how they're called, the ones where you go left, right, left, right...) than with my bigger wheel... Cant explain it

What I really need to know is...

Do those red buttons on Alex's steering wheel fire rockets or guns?
