Default What else to do with head rebuild ( 944S)

I was wondering what else i should so while i have the head off during the rebuild. Is there anything that can be done fairly cheap to give it a little increase in power? especially in the lower RPM's where i have read it lacks?

I have searched around.. and have not found a distinct answer.

Is it worth putting in bigger valves, ect?

someone please let me know so i can figure out which parts to start rounding up before i start this project.

the car is a 1988 944S that had the cam chain failure.. bending 8 of the 16 valves.

thanks for any input,
-keith

Keith,

Man I am sorry to hear about your cam chain failure, I just finished doing a top end rebuild on my 87 944S, My mechanic and I talked about some of the options for more horsepower, but after seeing what the cost was going to be to just bring it back to stock, we stuck with that. Good Luck.

their have been gains using 968 intake valves, but to do it correctly, you would need to tune it (add fuel). nothing is really going to give it an increase in power except for more displacement. When you get the car running, and learn how to drive it (it likes to stay in a certain rpm range), you will enjoy it.
