key wont turn in ignition
ok i know this has been talked about before but not for a while so here it goes. for a while now ive been having an intermitnet problem with my ignition. i would turn the key to position 1 and then it would not go any further. i would just turn it back and forth for a sec and it would work again. now it wont turn past pos. 1 again(had to push the car home from nearby taco bell). also the steering wheel has never locked since ive had the car. all electrical works from pos 1 like radio lights windows. so now im just tired and wondering what might be going on. can anyone help?

I have a similar problem and it is the cylinder thats shot. I got a price of $85 CAN at the dealer, incl a key of course. In the US thats probably $75 or so.

If the steering wheel is locked you won't be able to turn the key unless you take the pressure off the lock. Try turning the wheel an inch to the right or left while turning the key.

ok i found the problem after some close inspection. i found that the back piece of the ignition was loose. its the plastic piece on the back of the ignition lock cylinder. all i had to do was lay upside down in the seat and tighten the two flat head bolts/screws. simple huh.
