Default Addiction

I have seen my friends try and quick smoking only to fall back into the fold a few months later, and now I understand the phenomena. A little over a year ago I quick cars cold turkey, I sold my car, moved to a city where I would use public transportation, and stopped surfing the car web boards (mainly rennlist). A funny thing happened two months ago, I started lurking. At first just once a month (I think this is like grabbing a puff of someone elses cigarette). Then I was back hear daily (buying your first pack), now I am thinking about buying a car again so I can do some track evens (yep I just drove down to NC to buy cartons of cigarets to last only a couple weeks)......

So while I do not know if I will be pulled back in all the way, I am on the doorstep to 944 ownership yet again.......

I tried to quit smoking too - big puff every time I hti more than 3/4 throttle, but I adjusted the boost valve and there's little smoke now! Oh, sorry, that was for the TDI board...

I know what you mean, I did the same thing... I stopped visiting the boards, and just couldn't stay away... I'm back to daily now.

I somehow knew we'd be hearing from you!

And complaining about your car addiction here is like a crack-addict complaining to his dealer....

It is not a complaint, more of an observation.

There was some romance involved with the move - wasn't there? So....???

BTW, I think you can rent a garage space out in Queens for around $150/month....

When I sold my '60 Roadster in 1990, I said that was it. Then I started "
lurking" on Ebay. I knew my next "slip" was going to be a 924/944. I had wanted one since 1980. Then there it was, a white 924S. Sold my Civic (dailey driver). My wife probably did ****. I know they are just as bad a women or alcohol, but, I CAN"T HELP IT......I'M WEAK!!!!!!!Now I got 2.

Ian, glad to see someone with as much 951 knowledge as yourself coming back into the fold. Can't wait to hear about your first mod.

Well the job is working out ok, but I still have a long way to go. The whole relationship thing, well.... not so much. Things blew up about 6 months ago, I think the expectations were far too high. Lesson learned, on the plus side New York is one heck of place to be single.

I might need to take you up on that, at the very least I would need a place to give it a once over.

The car in question would be a standard 944, and the only mods would be track oriented. So no crazy mods for some time, if work picks up I can go back to a 951 (or even my old 951 if possible), but for now I want something I can drive to lime rock / the glen, give a good romping and take it home with out much hastle.
