Hope to have them in by then. But i just stripped the nut that the seat bolt goes in to. You know... the one inside the floor of the car. Can I retap that? How?

Forzas will not work with a 5-pt harness. Get a 6-pt harness or a seat with a sub belt hole. Mounting the sub belt over the front of the seat is dangerous - this kind of defeats the whole purpose of harnesses to begin with.

There are two schools of thought, but are you also using a roll bar with your fixed back seat/harness setup? The concern is that in the event of a rollover, your body won't be able to bend down and your head will be supporting the roof.

When these kinds of safety issues are discussed, there will always be someone to say, "but what if you go off track and into a nest of rabid weasels." I'm just trying to point out the benefits and drawbacks of your potential setup.

Here's some good info regarding harness installation: http://www.schroth.com/installation-.../en/index.html

Forzas have a sub-belt hole.

From a quick glance at a pic, I didn't see one. Sorry about the mistake.

No problem. It is hard to see. The hole is actually below the seat cushion and comes up between the two cushions (if you can call them that) that make up the seat.

Is it an advantage to having a harness for street driving and autocross? I've been thinking of seats and/or just a harness, but don't want to look like a poser. lol

For street driving, not really.

For autocross yes, helps to focus more on driving than trying to stay in the seat!

I hope so.

Jon - The PNC Arts Center is about 80.15 miles and (1 hour and 35 Minutes) from the Corner of SOB Rd and Jericho TPKE. I think it wold be shorter for you timewise.

I believe that harnesses bump you up a class.

Staying in the seat, believe me, I know about that. I always wondered why the side of my right knee is bruised, it's used to hold me in by using the side counsel. ha ha

Just wondering what are you attaching your inside lap belt too?

I attached it to the mount that came on the seat bracket for the stock lap belt.

I'm in C/SS, but no mention of harnesses for points. For each seat +1, but I have an extinguisher -1. If I decided to do both seats I would have to get a roll bar -2 to stay in SS.

Oh the fun = $$

Whether or not a harness bumps you up a class depends on your region. MetroNY is pretty flexable with its rules. The only things not allowed are engine modifications or lightening that was not necesary due to a safety part install, INC rollbar, proper seats for harnesses..etc.

Dan, ill think about going sunday. I dont feel like driving 80 miles to sweat my *** off and get 4 runs again. There is also always that fear i might break something and would be in one hell of a situation trying to get the car back home.

Z-Man, how many runs do you figure we will get? I know last time around it was pretty hectic.

Get your *** out of bed, in the car, and stop crying.

It's about 60 miles for me...alittle over an hour. But I really need the practice.

Plus if we're really lucky we'll get a total of 5 runs...and maybe that cool guy that likes tranny girls will be there again.
