why do a lot of ppl change the waterpump at this time???

because you're about 85% of the way there after you take the belts off...

I don't know why, it doesn't need to be changed every 30Kmi (belt change interval), maybe every third belt change...

Who told you to change it EVERY belt change?

I did my belts recently and did not change it since it looked fairly new and I knew the PO did actually care for the car. I am going to change it at the next belt service just no I know for sure.....
