Ticking/pinging sound when i give it the gas???

Pinging on its own could be fuel/timing issues, but with shavings in the oil they are probably related. Could you give some more info on the car?

Whatever you do do not start her up!!!!!!!!! Ticking can very quickly become crash boem bang.............
