I agree that 200 lb springs are rather soft for the 944. However, for most people it's a matter of not upsetting the balance too much with stock t-bars.

I suspect the biggest problem most people have with the Konis is running too soft a spring. I haven't seen Bilstein mentioned here, but I've yet to hear anyone running them be unhappy with them and have heard lots of raves about them. If I was to consider a non-adjustable damper, I'd go with them.

I also strongly agree that dampers should not be made to do the work of springs (making the dampers too hard).

Just drove a 951 yesterday (thanks Andrew) and realized that my shocks on the rear seem worn, although I was told they were recently replaced. So, what is the best value shocks (bilstien, koni, or others). Any recommendations. Those koni look really expensive (I got a clutch job coming and trying to save some cash).

I may have mislead you yesterday. I don't have the coil overs in the back, just the front. The ones I've got in the back are the $130 koni sport ones from paragon, not the $8-900 setup. It's like 4 bolts to replace them too, which is nice.

Yeah, but add to that, "However, every time I hit a tiny bump, my car feels like it's on a pogo-stick!" Note: too firm a shock setting in the rear of the car will result in a car that develops HOP - the shocks can't settle the car before the next bump and the car starts oscillating like this:

Hehe...Compared to some of the spring rates I've seen on other cars I run with on the track, you and I are merely diaper clad babies!
