What hub is needed for bolting on a OE 930S wheel to a 86 951?

AJ-USA has them for about $65, IIRC. I have one, but the tab that controls the turn signal cancel is broken on it, and I am not sure if you'd want to try and rig it to work.

Thanks Scott, Im still doing some research. I will keep that in mind that you have one...

Do the airbag cars use a different hub than the 86's?

Is the hub needed have a porsche part #?

Supposedly the airbag cars use a different hub, altho I haven't done an airbag car yet so I can't say for sure. I'll look (if I remember!) and see if there is a part number on it.

Sam, I maybe wasn't clear in the PM. The airbag cars have 2 splines on the steering column (I'm not sure if non-airbag cars are like this) The 1st spline (smaller) is where the steering wheel should ride. However, the farther back spline (larger diameter) fits the 930S hub, and presumably other 911 hubs. The larger spline is where the stock turn signal cancelation tab and horn contact mechanism are on airbag cars.

I forgot that AJ-USA has the hub adapter available.

Well, Im trying to figure out if the adapter they sell is basically a momo unit or an actual porsche adapter made for the 930 wheel. Anyone know how the 930 style wheels bolt to the hub adapter? (style: 3 holes, 6 holes, etc...) I have a momo non airbag hub adapter already and if thats what they sell then I just need the actual steering wheel.

Thank you...

I'm pretty sure its not a MOMO item, and is manufactured specifically for Porsche by an OEM manufacturer, altho the one I have doesn't have a Porsche part number on it. I'd bite th ebullet and buy the adapter with the wheel, less drama that way.

Yeah- thats an option but Im not going to be buying the wheel through them so before I buy just their hub I would like to know I need it. I have heard that the 930 wheels will bolt up to a momo hub from more than one person...just trying to get some feedback from people who have actually installed them onto the hub to see how it mounts. Not much in the archives.

Thanks all.

Seems by measurements taken by a family member the momo adapter will not work with the 930S wheel. (well it might work - but it will not "bolt" right up.)
