I've driven mine through two Minnesota winters. It got me around but I can't really say it handled great or anything, in fact I thought it was pretty scary on the worst days. If you go slow, you'll do just fine. Unfortunately, everybody else in their SUV and truck doesn't want to go slow and doesn't have the patience with people who do so you end up with people riding your @$$ pushing you to go faster, that's where it gets dangerous. My biggest problem was that the car didn't like to start when the temperature dropped down below 10-15 degrees, I had to push it in the garage and let it warm up. That's probably something wrong with my individual car though because i've never heard of anyone else having trouble starting. Ultimately, I bought an Audi for the winter and it's soo much easier and less nerve racking.

Thanks guys, keep the ideas coming, i may have just found a winter car that would allow me to sell my I30, and get a nice Porsche...we shall see how this all plays out.

I drove my 924S up in Rochester for a winter while i was in school. I had all season tires and it was fine, the only issue as others have said it ground clearance. I use to carry a small shovel in the car just in case.

Now i have AWD and i think that's like night and day compared to my 924S.
