Has anyone tried fitting 19" rims onto a 91 S2?.....8.5 fronts, 10s in the back?

I would be hard pressed to think there wouldnt be large ammounts of rub on the wheel wells. Not to mention loss of accel/decel performance due to inertia

Unless of course you wanted to make the first ever 944 DONK...

Anyone wanna photoshop a 944 onto these?

how much accel/decel would you really loose? I assume that the weight of the rubber is offset by the wheel. or do i assume wrong?

Its not that a 19" wheel is heavier than a 15" wheel. Although it is. Its that the 19" wheel puts more weight away from the center than the 15".

Its similar to the grade school science experiment where you stand on a rotating pad and hold weights in your hands. As you spin, you go slower when the weight is farther away from you and faster when you bring it in close to your body. Its the same principal here. the farther you move weight away from the center of the wheel, the harder it is to turn.

I have 18's on my 951 and you do NOT want to go bigger than that for a few reasons. Weight, fender lips, and suspension geometery. I have tons of suspension work done that helps to support the use of bigger wheels for the tire sizes I want to run. Even for just 17's you want to goto new bushings and caster blocks in the front.
