Default Short in my fuel and oil gauge 87' 944

87' 944 standard OK i have a short in my oil and fuel gauge. i have checked my two grounds running from my battery they are very tight. my volt/battery gauge and my temp gauge seems to be working fine is there another ground for the gauges.

Did you clean the grounds? How about cleaning the connectors for the dash itself?

Well the grounds looked very clean but no i did not i will try that.Now about cleaning the connectors for the dash where are they located at

The connectors for the dash are behind the dash. You have to pull off the steering wheel, trim around the dash, and then the dash can come out. If I recall correctly, there are two connectors leading to the dash (they're decently sized). You can either clean them with a little alcohol or a light going over with high grit sandpaper.
