I hope to be leaving thursday around noonish from North West burbs with car in tow as well. FYI, road construction around here is a BITXX! It is especially bad at the IL/IN border. I recommend to anybody to try to get thru this area mid day or very late night only!

I am planning on leaving the Thursday before around 10-11am from the Rockford area which should get me into the Suburb area about noon if I leave by 11.
Bob, thank you for the construction update...I hope most havoc can be avoided during mid-day!

The I-80 merge into I-294 backs up to Kedzie Ave. starting around 11am. You can take I-57 south to Rt30 and take that to Indianapolis Blvd. (41) then back north to 80/94.
The tollway (I-294) usually starts backing up at the border around 11am also.
BTW, Cline runs north/south. I believe Dr.Porsche must mean Ridge Road. You only have to take that as far east as Calumet Ave. Then you can head back north to the Borman (94). If you continue east on Ridge Road to 65, your gonna hit some very questionable neighborhoods. However, the majority of the trafffic is west of Torrence, so no point in exiting there.
Charlie944: if you're leaving Rockford @ 11am, be prepared for some HEAVY traffic on the southern end of 294. Although some days are better than others, after mid-day are usually worst. One more thing, hope you have an I-Pass as the cash-box lanes are death.

If traffic is going to be hellacious and as of know I do not have an I-pass but planning to get one I am leaning towards taking I-39S to I-80E and taking 80 all the way out. I know it is more miles but in the long run it might be quicker. Of course once on I-80 in Indiana area I can easily meet up with you all or anyone in the SW burbs around Joliet area would work out too.

Charlie,
Good idea to take I-80, but get off at I-57 south to Rt30, then continue east to I-65 from there.
Trust me, I-80 is a Nightmare starting at Kedzie all the way east to the state line.
This may seem like the long way around, but we're talking like a 2 hour delay.

Not going to fest, too much of a noob here to plan. I will actually be in Madison that Sat for something completely different. I usually only drive the car to the track but would have maybe tagged along with someone had I know about it.
Also I am in the middle of a rollbar repaint and a rear-seat-delete operation. The r-s-d project is taking me a bit longer to complete than I thought d/t the fact that I am not an upolsterer I am taking pics of the process though. Let me know your schedule.
