Default ever strip the cross member mounting bolt?

Ok well what do you guys suggest? I was putting a weltmeister sway bar in and when i was tightening back up...not even putting that much torque, one of the bolts stripped its hole. Who made these cars? why?

I started putting the other one in and barely tightened it for fear of the same thing? what now? drill the friggin thing out, thread it and put in a 12 mm?

If it is one of the bolts in the frame use a timesert and fix it right. You will be able to use the same bolt as originally used and it will be stronger than original.

Yes. Unfortunately, the only way to fix that to factory spec is to cut the frame rail open to replace the welded in nut unless you have a big enough of a drill and tap set to make the hole one size bigger.

I just read the last post. I have never used time serts so that sounds like a good way to go about it.
